New Parents Hub: Pregnancy, Birth & Early Parenthood

Pregnancy and becoming a parent can bring plenty of questions. When should antenatal care begin? How can you prepare for birth? What happens during the first few weeks after your baby arrives? And where can you find support if feeding or recovery is not going as expected?

The Her Village Maternity New Parents Hub brings together practical pregnancy guides, birth preparation resources, newborn feeding information and postnatal advice in one easy-to-navigate place.

Created for new and expectant parents in Holloway, Finsbury Park, Islington and across North London, these resources can help you understand your options, prepare questions and feel better informed throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.

And when you want advice that is personal to you rather than general information online, Her Village Maternity is here to listen.

Maternity Information You Can Return to Throughout Your Journey

Every pregnancy, birth and family is different. That is why the New Parents Hub is designed to give you useful starting points without suggesting there is one 'right' way to approach pregnancy or parenthood.

Here, we combine accessible information with personalised, relationship-led maternity care from a registered independent midwife.

Why Parents Choose Her Village Maternity:

Continuity of care - build a relationship with someone who gets to know you, your preferences and your questions.

Personalised support - care shaped around your individual circumstances rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

NHS community healthcare experience - Jasmine brings 12 years' experience in NHS community healthcare to her work as a registered independent midwife.

Inclusive care - welcoming different cultures, backgrounds, identities, family structures and routes to parenthood.

Advocacy-led care - with a particular commitment to improving experiences and representation for Black and Brown families.

Support across the maternity journey - including antenatal care, birth planning, antenatal education, postnatal care, infant feeding support and newborn checks.

Local North London support - for families in Holloway, Finsbury Park, Islington and surrounding areas.

A free initial conversation - giving you an opportunity to ask questions before deciding whether Her Village Maternity is right for you.

Talking About Your Birth Experience

After birth, you may have questions about what happened or simply want some space to talk through your experience.

Your session can provide space to talk about your birth experience and identify questions you may wish to raise with your maternity team. This is supportive reflection rather than psychological therapy or a formal clinical birth debrief.

Emotional Postnatal Support

This service is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or your baby may be at immediate risk, call 999 or attend A&E. For urgent mental-health support, contact NHS 111 and select the mental-health option, where available.

When you need more than general information, personalised support is available too.
